Webinar: Setting AI Expectations - Creating Clarity in Classrooms

This is one of my favorite webinars for educators (MS/HS) exploring how to implement AI in their classrooms. The discussion about district-wide implementation at the beginning is insightful, but I especially love the classroom modeling starting around the 23-minute mark. I look forward to hearing if you have thoughts or feedback!

Often when I hear discussion about AI in schools, the topic is more about how to see if students are cheating with AI and problems in the past.  However, I would love to shift this discussion to how to implement it for good, while taking into consideration the bad uses.  So there are defined times when using it is welcomed and proper citing of your AI sources.  In the webinar they talk about their AI workgroup they did at two high schools where they had sessions to Build Expertise, Explore/Draft Language, Finalize Language, and Implementation Plan.  Like Jenn said, at 23 minutes it shows an example of how to work with students to choose what part of a lesson they can and cannot use AI.  I love this part where the teacher and student discuss what they are trying to learn from their assignment and what part AI can help with.  The students get to learn the learning objectives you want to teach and let the students utilize AI on the other parts of the assignment.  By giving the students access to use it for specific parts, then gives buy-in when you say they cannot use it.
